Or should I say “Mommom’s Pot Roast”! Mommom is my grandmother, and she makes the BEST, most tender post roast I have ever had! She shared the recipe with me and I made it for Josh and I last weekend. And let me tell you, we’ll be making this one on the regular from now on! Its SO easy! Even Josh made the comment “Even I can cook this!” 🙂
So here’s what you’ll need!
INGREDIENTS :
– 2 to 3 pound chuck tender roast
– 2 tbsp vinegar
– Garlic Powder
– Cajun seasoning (I use tony’s)
– Cayenne Pepper
– Black pepper
– 1 package of Lipton dry onion soup
– about 1/2 cup water
DIRECTIONS :
Put your tender roast in your crock pot, and sprinkle your vinegar on top. This will help tenderize your meat.
Then add all your garlic powder, cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper, and black pepper (as much or as little as you want, depending on your taste). And pour your water around the meat.
Then top with your Limpton dry onion soup package.
Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours (recommended) or on high for 4-5 hours. Once it’s done, it will literally fall apart with just a fork. So tender! You won’t need a knife at all!
We served ours with brown rice and steamed asparagus.
Hope you enjoy and love this simple recipe as much as we do! 🙂
