Hey Guys! This is going to be a quick one! Just wanted to share this for all you dog lovers out there who treat your fur babies as good and you treat yourself! It’s that time of year where we are all trying to eat better by only putting natural healthy ingredients in our bodies. Well we should all be doing the same for a dogs!
If you don’t already know, Sammy is our adorable two year old lab mix and we still love to spoil him and give him treats when he does something good. So for instance, every time he goes potty outside and then runs back into the house we tell him how good of a dog he is and give him a little treat 🙂 If you’re the same with your fur babies you should definitely keep reading!
So all the foods here you’re probably already eating, bc it’s January, and it’s diet season!
- First up is STRAWBERRIES! No need to waste the tops when you cut them off! Use them as treats!!! Sammy goes CRAZY for strawberries!
- Second is organic BANANA CHIPS! For us they’re a healthy way to fulfill a sweet tooth and Sammy loves them because of the flavor and the crunch!
- Last is SALMON! We buy a huge salmon fillet from Costco when we meal prep but it’s still too much sometimes for both of us. So I always cut off a good size filet and wrap it up separately in aluminum foil (completely plain) and bake it at the same time as ours (here’s how we cook the salmon for us). Break into chunks and let it cool and store it in an air tight container in the fridge. You’ll have bitesize snacks that I promise your dogs will go crazy for!
A few more (not pictured) treat ideas are organic apple sauce (that kind that comes in the pouches – perfect for re-sealing and lasts for a few “treats”), blueberries, and apple skin from a pealed apple. Sammy loves all of these and we never feel guilty when we give them to him!!
