One of the biggest design challenges we face as parents is organizing toys in the living room or other spaces! What should we do with all of the toys that we purchase for our littles?

Some are lucky enough to have an entirely separate playroom, but not everyone has that much space in their home! Many end up with toys scattered around their living room because they want the family to all be together and to be able to watch their kids while they’re playing but at the end of the day when the kids are asleep and you want to relax you don’t want to feel like your living in one big pile of toys!

If you’re looking for solutions to get back your mature, adult home with a space that is both functional and aesthetic, keep reading!

One of my favorite ways to hide the kids’ toys is by using decorative baskets and bins. These options look great on open shelves in your living area, whether you have built-in shelving or purchase furniture with shelves.

You can also place baskets underneath your coffee table as a space-saving option. For larger toys, oversized baskets can also be incorporated into your space next to your sofa or the fireplace, or under open shelves!

Built-in drawers are also an excellent storage option for toys. You can incorporate built-in drawers into the design of your space by adding built-ins along your wall or under a window to organize toys in the living room.

Another great option is to choose furniture, like benches or trunks, that has built-in drawers! Cube-style open shelving also works great for hiding and organizing.

How do you organize toys in the living room when you have littles? Do you incorporate baskets or mindfully purchase furniture with storage options?
